TweetWe’re delighted to announce our second new phone today, the Nokia 206.
The Nokia 206 brings together classic and contemporary, with a traditional keypad married to a stunning design and a generous 2.4-inch screen. Like the Nokia Asha 205, it comes in single and dual-SIM varieties.
Nokia 206 (single SIM)*System: GSM 850/1900,User Interface: Series 40Dimensions: 116 x 49.4 x 12.4mmWeight: 91.0g (including battery)Display: 2.4-inch, 65k colour 320×240 QVGA TFT displayCamera: 1.3-megapixels, video captureMemory: Up to 10MB free user memory; up to 32GB micro-SD cardConnectivity: GPRS/EDGE, 2.0 mm Charger Connector, Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR, 3.5 mm AV connectorBattery life: 47 days standby / 20 hours talktime*The Dual-SIM variant of this phone has almost identical specs, but with a slightly lower standby time (25 days vs. 47 days standby).
The Nokia 206 comes in cyan, black, white, magenta and yellow, and boasts a sleek curved form with a distinctive modern look. Who said a feature phone had to look old-fashioned?
Slam it to meAs with the Nokia Asha 205, owners of the Nokia 206 can take advantage of the new Nokia Slam technology for sharing items on their phone. This uses Bluetooth for transmission, but doesn’t require you to pair the two phones. We’ll be going deeper into how it works and why you want Slam in a forthcoming article.
With the Nokia Xpress Browser installed, owners don’t need to fear running up excessive data charges when browsing the Web on their phone. It calls upon cloud-based servers which cut download sizes by up to 90 per cent, saving the owner money.
Where the service is available, the Nokia 206 will ship with Nokia Life.
AppstravaganzaYou can also share instantly to Facebook, as well as email. WhatsApp ( in the single SIM version) and eBuddy are preinstalled, and there’s a gift pack of ten premium entertainment titles to download. In addition, there are 1000s of free and paid games and apps in the Nokia Store.
The camera is optimised for content sharing with lower sized files. The 1.3-megapixel resolution can automatically resize pictures to around 700KB. This is great for a Facebook posting. It also offers an ‘intelligent imaging’ feature, which will tell you when self-portraits are in focus, and allows you to take a sequence of shots and choose the best. Video capture is also supported.
Once again, exchanging SIM cards in the Dual-SIM variant of the Nokia 206 is made easy thanks to our Easy Swap technology which gives access to a SIM-card slot in the side of the phone where you can swap cards without even switching the phone off.
This is another world-beater when it comes to battery life, too. You can (if you really want!) talk for twenty hours solid without a recharge, or you could leave it on standby for a whole month and still be able to use it.
The Nokia 206 will be available from Q4 2012. Without operator subsidies or local taxes, it will cost around $62 USD.

Memory: Up to 10MB free user memory; up to 32GB micro-SD card
Nokia always repeat the same mistake with very tiny internal memory.
http://twitter.com/Hdrules HradayeshS40 doesn’t need high internal memory compare to symbian phones as not much app data is stored in internal memory in S40
Vikas PatidarThis is true but you know it will be loaded with 5-6 MB of local apps which you can not delete and ultimately user will end up with only 4-6MB of free memory in phone. And because of this sometimes. camera doesn’t work. Music player don’t update the playlist and phone becomes slow down.
http://www.facebook.com/mike.i.mac Michael AngelusVikas you are correct. Nokia users should be allowed to kill those apps which he doesn’t like by the user interface itself.
http://www.facebook.com/people/Amir-Lukmanhisyam/100000239066933 Amir Lukmanhisyamso the point is just a bit bigger internal storage and the problem is solved…
sometimes even the OTA update consume those free space
why Nokia 206 don’t come with Asha name like Asha 205?
http://conversations.nokia.com Ian DelaneyThe Asha name is reserved for full-touch and QWERTY phones with a decisive focus on social networking.
Marc_AurelWell, except the Asha 300, 202 and 203, which are Touch & Type phones with an ITU-T number pad? ;-)
It seems that there is some confusion in the marketing department…
Tom“will be available from Q4 2013.”
Rly?;)
*cough* it doesn’t say that at all. (Thank you!)
Mike Smithwhere best online place to buy come early???
Alexus Pastranalast quarter of 2013??? that seems long.
Marc_AurelIt’s probably a typo.
http://conversations.nokia.com Ian DelaneyIt was. *blush*
Vikas PatidarWhat about a dual SIM Asha with 3G support and design like Nokia N9?
air_dexWhat about the Asha Touch 305 and 308 ?
Vikas PatidarNone of them have 3G

GuestNice NOKIA ASHA 206 ^_^ … Love IT :)
http://www.facebook.com/muhammad.w.afridi Muhammad Waqas Afridiya nice
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1187016204 Chintan GohelCan you produce a phone with the same size screen or bigger but higher pixel density? This is pretty low considering my Nokia 2700 classic is 2.0 inches but still 320*240. Also, the camera is kind of low for this 205 model. I need a 2.6 inch screen but normal keypad and the pixel density of 200ppi or higher. Do that, and I’ll be very grateful
Marc_AurelNot possible in the same price range as the 206. There isn’t much demand for such phones in any case.
http://www.facebook.com/lalyash Yash Vardhan Laleverything is good .. but no USB connector … real bad .,,,
http://www.facebook.com/mike.i.mac Michael AngelusNo USB CONNECTOR :o NOKIA >_ Mike Smith
Has USB!
http://www.facebook.com/rrahuls Rahul GautamBack panel of the phone inspired by Lumia Series>> NOW we have a smaller lumia,,
http://www.facebook.com/mike.i.mac Michael AngelusNothing new in specifications.
But design is awesome. colors are bright and this phone can appeal to large young numbers who like to stay updated with facebook and twitter.
DUBYA TEE EFF?!?!? WEIRDNESS!
kingstuWill the dual-sim variation work with North American frequencies (850/1900)? So far none of Nokia’s dual sim phones work with North American cellular frequencies.
dazzWill it be available in France? (I know it’s not the primary market of the phone, but I’m seduced by the month of autonomy…

http://www.facebook.com/people/Christian-Vásquez-Troncoso/100001489662391 Christian Vásquez Troncosoyellow and cyan version are really nice. They resemble the Lumia 920
http://twitter.com/capricotwi04 CapricoSimply beautiful! I like the idea of copying the N9 design on such a phone. Still think this kind of hardware keyboard is the best a simply mobile phone can have.

Mike SmithI want Single sim 206 please Australia first release black.:) Maybe next week wonder who stock first????
http://twitter.com/incorporatedto incorporated.toNokia 206. It is really a beautiful model. I love the design, features and colours. Perhaps for some it seems boring since it does not have a touchscreen or perhaps it is less a favorite as other brands, but still. I love Nokia for making these models, because I am still a (onyl 35 years old) user who is not clued to a touchscreen device. Nokia 206, I am really going to get me one as soon as they appear in the Nokia Shop, and I do love the colours, the yellow one for sure, pehaps the blue one too, as an extra? :-D
